The Smoky Mountain Retreat at Eagles Nest is a 1,000 acre development established with high standards for planning, design and construction. Recognizing that the success of the community must include the success of the builders within the community, the developer has established an integrated series of documents designed to allow the developer to maintain certain “controls” without compromising the expertise and individual creativity of each builder.
Each builder must be licensed by North Carolina, financially sound, extremely experienced, highly ethical and creative design wise. All construction of homes must be in compliance with the Smoky Mountain Retreat Builder Program. The basic controls are to limit the number of builders, establish uniform procedures of operation and establish minimum designing and construction features. The Smoky Mountain Retreat Builder Program allows you to present a builder of your choice for approval.
These particular builders have built multiple home in the Smoky Mountain Retreat and have done an excellent job.

What started as a company that simply built post and beam structures has developed into one that can manufacture & customize timbers and build them into any specified structure — start to finish. In other words, you dream of a timber truss or house frame –they can design it, cut it, implement it, and complete it to your heart’s desire.
Scott has been building masterpiece homes in the mountains of western North Carolina for over 30 years. He is an extremely “hands-on” builder, spending a great deal of personal time on each home. He provides an unusually high caliber of design details and finishes which turn each home he builds into a masterpiece. The design ideas that Scott provides would cost a fortune if provided by a top architect. When building with Scott, these ideas are just another service provided by his company. He keeps a low overhead by working from a home office. His wife Janice handles all of the in-house accounting and billing and his daughter Jennifer maintains the website and newsletter. This savings is passed on to his customers allowing more money to go into each high-quality home at a lower cost.
